Set in 100 acres of parkland, the Leeds Beckett University Campus in Headingley is just under 3 miles from the nearby main campus in the city centre and provides a hub for many of the city’s students. Weetwood Primary School is a popular choice for primary education in Headingley and has been consistently rated as good in their recent Ofsted reports. For private primary school education then Richmond House School is a highly recommended school set in 10 acres of land, littering with an impressive array of facilities from an outdoor learning area to an adventure playground. These aren’t your only choices though, as Headingley is home to several other schools as well. For secondary education, parents can choose from no less than seven nearby secondary schools offering a choice of both public and private education. Lawnswood School and Leeds City Academy are two of the most commonly attending secondary schools in the area.
Otley Road takes you straight through Headingley and into Leeds city centre The A6120, otherwise known as the Leeds outer ring road begins in Belle Isle, travels around most of the city’s perimeter before it ends at junction 46 on the M1. Headingley has its own train station, just of Kirkstall Lane, which operates regular trains into Leeds, Knaresborough and York.
Situated in beautiful, tranquil grounds right on the banks of the River Aire, Kirkstall Abbey is an idyllic spot for a walk, a picnic and a family day out. And speaking of picnics, you can enjoy food from around the world at the impressive deli market held at the abbey on a regular basis as well as indulge in a series of other outdoor markets and fun family activities all year round.
Home of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Team and the Yorkshire Carnegie Rugby Union Clubs, it’s no wonder Headingley Stadium is a hive of activity and excitement in Headingley almost all year round. It’s also recently enjoyed no less that £45m worth of brand new facilities including new executive lounges and suites, so it’s set to be an even more popular and impressive venue in the years to come too.

Named after the family of James Thomas Brudenell, owner of Kirkstall Abbey, the Brudenell Social Club is a firm centerpiece of the thriving Leeds music scene. Famous for it’s “secret gigs” the venue also hosts “not so secret gigs” most nights of the week. It’s a lively, fun loving venue and a registered charity to boot, run by its members for its members. It’s not just about the music though, there are local cask ales on tap, a well equipped games room and a lounge. If you like living in Headingley then this is destined to be a favourite place to visit.

Headingley itself is home to Beckett Park, Leeds Beckett University and the Headingley Stadium which is why this particular suburb of Leeds is known for its cosmopolitan culture and lively atmosphere. There are several excellent restaurants right on Headingley's doorstep too, in particular Santorini and The Cat's Pyjamas, which both come highly recommended and there's no shortage of excellent pubs and bars either.

And as if all this wasn't reason enough to move to Headingley, it also boasts a number of good local schools and all the necessary amenities required for a convenient, modern lifestyle.
