Schools

Set in 100 acres of parkland, the Leeds Beckett University Campus in Headingley is just under 3 miles from the nearby main campus in the city centre and provides a hub for many of the city’s students.

Weetwood Primary School is a popular choice for primary education in Headingley and has been consistently rated as good in their recent Ofsted reports. For private primary school education then Richmond House School is a highly recommended school set in 10 acres of land, littering with an impressive array of facilities from an outdoor learning area to an adventure playground. These aren’t your only choices though, as Headingley is home to several other schools as well.

For secondary education, parents can choose from no less than seven nearby secondary schools offering a choice of both public and private education. Lawnswood School and Leeds City Academy are two of the most commonly attending secondary schools in the area.

Food & drink

Named after the family of James Thomas Brudenell, owner of Kirkstall Abbey, the Brudenell Social Club is a firm centerpiece of the thriving Leeds music scene. Famous for it’s “secret gigs” the venue also hosts “not so secret gigs” most nights of the week. It’s a lively, fun loving venue and a registered charity to boot, run by its members for its members. It’s not just about the music though, there are local cask ales on tap, a well equipped games room and a lounge. If you like living in Headingley then this is destined to be a favourite place to visit.
