The arts scene in North Yorkshire is thriving with an impressive range of performing arts, museums, and galleries, as well as places like Scarborough and York which off quality entertainment all year round at theatres and music venues alike. If you’re a TV fan, you’ll also notice several of our towns and villages look very familiar too and well worth a spot of cultural exploration.

When it comes to shopping, you really can’t get better than North Yorkshire. Cities like York offer high street names and designer shops. While places like Ripon and Harrogate boast independent shops and boutiques. At Christmas you can also enjoy a wealth of handmade markets and fairs offering the best the county’s creatives have to offer.

The Yorkshire Dales is renowned for its beautiful scenery, impressive castles and a sense of space and tranquillity. The North Yorkshire Moors offers a further 1,436 square miles of beautiful landscapes to explore, dotted with charming villages and historic abbeys. If you like the seaside then the North Yorkshire Coast is second to none. It boasts sandy beaches, fishing villages, lively seaside towns, rugged cliffs and beautiful bays.

There are no less than 68 restaurants in North Yorkshire that are featured in the Michelin guide, including establishments belonging to well known professional chef’s including Tommy Banks and Shaun Rankin so you can be sure to find something tasty to eat, wherever you are.
