A village and civil parish in the county of West Yorkshire.
It’s perfectly placed for easy access into Leeds city centre, as well as escaping into some of Yorkshire’s best rural countryside. It is known for its fabulous community spirit, a trait it shares with its close neighbour, Guiseley. Menston also has one of the best local produce farm shops in the area, as well as number of other great independent stores, clubs and groups.

Menston primary school has consistently been rated good in their recent Ofsted reports and it is a popular choice among parents in the area. It runs an extensive extra-curricular program as well as encouraging outdoor learning, St Mary's Menston Catholic Voluntary Academy offers secondary and sixth form education for students aged 11 to 18 that is rooted in Christian values. It has been Ofsted rated as an outstanding school and boasts a hugely successful track record in education.
Transport
Menston has its own train station that provides regular rail services into Ilkley, Leeds and Bradford Forster Square. The village sits on the A65, ten wildes from Leeds and 9 miles from Bradford. Regular bus services also connect Menston with Leeds, Otley and Wetherby
Outdoors
Wharfe meadows Park lies alongside the River Wharfe and has beautiful gardens where you can take a leisurely walk, go on the river on a boat or pedalo, or just sit and watch the world go by. For family groups there is the extensive playground complete with a snug cafe serving everything from tea to ice cream. For older children there are the added attractions of a skateboard park and the recently installed outdoor gym. .
Shopping
Salts Mill is an historic building in the nearby model village of Saltaire. It’s reknowned for art, dining and shopping and is currently home to a large collection of works by David Hockney. It also hosts events and exhibitions throughout the near and it sits at the heart of Saltaire, an official UNESCO World Heritage site.

There is a thriving community centre and over 20 retail outlets which are largely family run and include a Post Office, chemist and convenience store. The village contains its own medical centre and two dental practitioners. Wharfedale General Hospital is only three miles away. A number of self-employed traders work from the village providing services such as garden maintenance, motor repairs, pet sitting and dog walking.

It boasts a safe, village atmosphere and with excellent schools and the green open spaces of Menston Park, it is the perfect place for families looking to move closer to Leeds, but without the hustle and bustle of city life.
