Kirkstall Abbey actually used to control the village of Horsforth many many years ago but today it is a popular tourist attraction. Situated in beautiful, tranquil grounds right on the banks of the River Aire, Kirkstall Abbey is an idyllic spot for a walk, a picnic and a family day out. And speaking of picnics, you can enjoy food from around the world at the impressive deli market held at the abbey on a regular basis as well as indulge in a series of other outdoor markets and fun family activities all year round. Fun fact (thank you Wikipedia) - Horsforth is the home town of Neville Longbottom actor, Matthew Lewis.
