The Chartford Team

Neil was one of the original founders of Chartford Homes and brought his signature energy and drive to creating a housebuilding company from the ground up that matched his vision of creating quality homes. He passed away in December 2024 after living with cancer for 4 years. His legacy continues.

John is a qualified chartered surveyor and has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for over 25 years. He previously worked in commercial real estate before joining the group in 2001. He is responsible for operational matters, property management and performance.

Matthew is one of the company founders, shareholder and director and has worked in the industry since qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1990. Working in development and investment for 25 years, he has strong knowledge of the market and oversees the land acquisition programme.

Chris has worked for Chartford for 11 years having previously worked as Sales Director for Consort Homes and Tay Homes PLC.

Bill is a qualified Chartered Accountant and joined Chartford Homes in 2018 having worked for over 25 years in senior financial roles within the construction sector. Latterly in contracting, Bill has previously spent 20 years in housebuilding and has now welcomed the opportunity to work for Chartford Homes.

Glen qualified as a Commercial Property Solicitor in 2002 and joined Chartford Homes as the in-house solicitor in 2017. Glen deals with the acquisition of sites for Chartford Homes and any legal issues arising from the development of sites from the outset to the eventual plot disposals.

Paul has worked for the group for 15 years after previously working for Carey Jones Architects.

Mark has worked in the construction industry since 1987 when he started his career as a Junior Surveyor. He went on to hold senior commercial positions at Alfred McAlpine and Wilson Connolly then moving into consultancy work for Persimmon and Bellway, working on large consortium sites and complex London developments.

Chris has over 38 years’ experience within the construction industry undertaking multiple fast track projects, spanning the commercial and the residential sectors. Chris's role as Contracts Manager at Chartford Homes includes looking after the smooth running of site-based activities and operations and ensuring successful project completion.

Lewis has worked in the construction industry since 2015 when he started his career. He gained valuable site experience by working on a variety of our developments, prior to taking on the role of Site Manager at Chartford Homes. He is proud of the quality and workmanship in every Chartford home. 

Karl started his career over 30 years ago as a Joiner and has been a Site Manager for over 10 years. He has worked throughout the UK on various sized projects including social housing, care homes, secure units, MOD buildings and schools. He joined Chartford Homes in 2017 and enjoys working for a quality, local house builder.

Oliver joined Chartford Homes in 2023, after undertaking valuable industry experience working on a diverse range of developments in Sydney. He is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, complementing his academic studies whilst gaining experience on site.

Phil has over 35 years’ experience within the construction industry. After completing a four-year apprenticeship at Jacob Crammer College in 1982, Phil started his career in customer care in 1992, he has worked as Customer Care Manager for two other construction companies before joining Chartford Homes in 2014.

Simon is an experienced carpenter by trade and qualified with City & Guilds in Advanced Carpentry and Joinery. Prior to joining Chartford’s Customer Care Team, Simon gained years of invaluable experience in the building trade by working for various national house builders.

Ross joined Chartford Homes in 2006, having previously worked in Sales for a large insurance company. During his career at Chartford Homes, Ross has been promoted from Purchase Ledger to Accounts Assistant and now to his current role Assistant Accountant. Ross is a key member of the Finance Team.

Jenny joined Chartford Homes in 2022 after an internal move from Bracken Workspace Plus. When the role in finance at Chartford Homes became available, it was a great opportunity to further her career. Jenny is working to continually grow her knowledge and experiences within the company to add value to the team.

Rachel is passionate about Chartford Homes’ core values and the reasons why the details really do make the difference. As a dedicated member of the team, Rachel has seen the company grow to where it is today and in her current role, she supports the sales team from head office and helps promote and advertise Chartford’s beautiful new homes.

Bev has worked in the property sector for over 25 years and has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the property sales market during which she worked as a Manager and a Valuer. Bev is committed to delivering excellent customer service from the initial enquiry and throughout the home buyer’s journey.

Julie has a wealth of experience of working in the new homes sales sector, having spent over 20 years working for various national housebuilders before joining Chartford Homes. Julie is a dedicated member of the team and is committed to selling our purchasers’ their dream Chartford home.
