Tong Leadership Academy in Bradford is a new academy that provides local secondary education for children in Drighlington. Junction 27 on the M62 is also on the doorstep connecting Drighlinton with the M1 and M621 motorways as well. Drighlinton is also very close to the A650, a direct route to both Bradford and Wakefield. Morley train station is just a 15 minute drive away to the east while Low Moor railway station is the same journey time to the west. Between them these stations provide regular train services to Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Southport and London Kings Cross.

Living in Drighlington

Drighlington sits on the site of the Battle of Adwalton Moor which is commemorated with four stones with plaques around the village common and an information board on the wall of the community library. You can also find a number of local shops in the village plus a post office, a community centre and several local pubs. Anything you can't find in Drighlington itself you can easily find in Morley just two and a half miles away, including two major supermarkets and an indoor market. The Leeds White Rose Shopping Centre is under four miles away too, offering high street shops and popular department stores.
